1860 - Census - Future husband
John F Gushard is living in the home of Thomas B Coder
in Patterson Borough, Juniata Co., PA. The reason
I am placing this Census information here for John F
Gushard, is the Coder connection. As of April 2017,
I am still looking for the parents of Mary Jane Coder
(Elizabeth's mother). Was Thomas B Coder the
brother of Mary Jane Coder?

Marries bother's widow Sara "Sadie" E Smith Gushard, Aug 6,
1910, McAlisterville, Juniata Co., PA . Sara first
married Edward's brother in 1898
Of note on the license application. The license was
originally applied for in 1907. It was not until 1910,
that they actually got married. Also, the year of the
death given for first husband has the wrong year. The
month and day are correct. William died Aug 18, 1903
not 1893 |

Two Arrested In Illegal Deer
Killing
The Daily News from Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, November
23, 1954, Page 15 |
Arrest of two Huntingdon men in
an illegal deer killing was announced today by Pennsylvania
Game
Commission officials. The defendants, Robert Ellwood Wright,
26, of 314 Thirteenth Street, and Frank George Gushard, 26,
of 107 Nineteenth Street, pleaded guilty as charged when
taken before a Huntingdon justice of the peace, Wright was
charged with possession of a deer killed in closed season,
while Gushard was arrested for aiding and assisting in-the
killing of a deer in closed season. Game Commission
officials found the illegally killed deer in a refrigerator
at the Wright home when they staged a raid there. Each of
the men was fined $100 and $10 costs after entering pleas of
guilty. Officials said the case against the two men was
completed today. The illegal deer was killed last Thursday
night between 7:30 and 8:30 o'clock on Warrior Ridge, West
Township, Huntingdon County. It was noted by Game
Commission officials today
that conviction on a charge .of taking a deer in closed
season automatically revokes the defendant's hunting
privileges for a period of three years. |
