Gladas Grace "Pat" O’Bryon Reed, 94, of Meadowview Manor,
Bridgeport, and formerly of Philippi and Clarksburg, died at
6:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, in Meadowview Manor.
Mrs. Reed was born Aug. 24, 1907, in Terra Alta, a daughter of
the late William Harrison and Laura Ellen Messenger O’Bryon.
On Nov. 27, 1935, in Terra Alta, she married Clee Odbert Reed,
who preceded her in death on May 7, 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Sue Reed and husband, Leon Cox,
Wellsburg; two sons, Kenneth Reed and wife, Amma and Joseph Reed
and wife, Joann, all of Volga; two sisters, Marie Vignam
Fairmont, and Faye Nally, Baltimore, Md.; a sister-in-law,
Nellie McIntyre, Nutter Fort; five grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Odair and
Howard O’Bryon; and a sister, Thelma O’Bryon Davis.
Mrs. Reed was a 1927 graduate of Terra Alta High School and a
1930 graduate of Mason U.P. Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a nurse at Mason U.P. Hospital and a school nurse for
Harrison County Board of Education. She was a homemaker. She was
a charter member of Barbour County Sportsman’s Club, a member of
the Red Cross and a member of Faithway Baptist Church.
Friends were received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St.,
Philippi, Sunday and today from noon until 2 p.m., the funeral
hour, with Pastor Downing Gregory officiating. Interment
followed in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations
may be made to Faithway Baptist Church, 620 Johnson Ave.,
Belington, W.Va. 26250. |

Charles L. "Pete" Ayers passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018
at Country Gardens in Butler.
Graveside memorial service for Mr. Ayers, 86, of Reynolds will
be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Crowell United
Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors in
the Crowell Community Center at 1:00 PM.
He was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church, a chartered
member and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Taylor County,
on the original Board of Beechwood School and a Past President
of Flint Area Consolidated Housing Authority. Pete was an
Independent Businessman and a real estate agent. He served in
the US Navy during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary
Wainwright Ayers and parents Thomas Greer and Pauline Reed
Ayers.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Ayers (Penny) of Blue Ridge,
GA; one daughter, Mary Nell Johnston (Wayne) of Augusta, GA;
four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
Association. |

Eddie and Penny
BLUE RIDGE, Ga.- Having served
over 22 years as Fannin and Gilmer County Extension Agent, Eddie
Ayers is a beloved member of the community.
Friends and co-workers filled Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Center on
Friday, March 29, 2019, to honor his years of service and
celebrate his retirement.
“The community has accepted me,” Ayers began, “Been here for 22
years and trying to help people. Seeing them coming, I am just
overwhelmed with people coming out.”
He continued, “It’s been a pleasure watching kids grow up and
helping people. That’s really been fun.”
Former resident of Taylor County, Georgia, Ayers made his home
here in the North Georgia Mountains years ago. Stating the
reason for his move was the excellent Fannin County school
system.
Peggy Rich, member of Master Gardeners, commented to FYN, “He
knows everybody in town. He has made many friends over the
years. He has helped so many people in a lot of different ways.
A very personable guy. A man of his word.”

Happy H. Reed - Funeral services for Happy H. Reed, 55, of
1168 Briarcliff Road NE will be at 11 a.m Monday at Turner's
chapel, Dr. Dick H. Hall and the Rev. William Lancaster
officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Mr. Reed, an automobile parts salesman, died Friday in a private
hospital. A native of Kerens, W.Va., he had lived in the Atlanta
area for 22 years. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, the former Sara Bernice Tucker; a
son, Happy T. Reed, Atlanta; a daughter, Mrs. James T Adair III,
Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. Greer Ayers and Mrs. Joe McIntyre,
both of Clarksburg, W.Va.. and four brothers, Clare, Clee O.,
and Wallace Reed, all of Clarksburg, and Ronald Reed of Erie,
Pa. |

Mr. George W. Cunningham, age forever 39, of Rockvale, TN passed
away Sunday, March 11, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was
born in Clarksburg, WV to the late Andrew and Leona Claypool
Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham was a baker for Wonder Bread for 36
years. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his
family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed
bowling and was quite the dancer.
Mr. Cunningham is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta
Cunningham; three daughters, Diana Moran and her husband John of
Lascassas, TN, Rebecca Cunningham and her husband Marco Rivera
of Peoria, AZ, and Barbara Hill of Lowell, IN; ten
grandchildren, Jimmy Joe, Dustin, Aleea, Jessica, Nathan,
Reeanna, Randon, Randy, Rhyon, and Rhiley; and 22
great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded
in death by three sisters and one brother. He was dearly loved
by his family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, March 14, 2018
from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral
services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00am at
Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. James Tipton will officiate. Burial
will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. |

passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2002.
Survived by her husband Edgar "Bud" Livingston, two sons: Ed
(Terri) Livingston of Hammond, IN and John (Terri) Livingston of
Highland IN, one daughter: Lisa (Jerry) Oberc of Hammond, IN,
seven grandchildren, two-great grandchildren, one brother:
Melvin (Carolyn) Reed of West Virginia, three sisters: Bobby
(George) Cunningham of Hammond, IN, Phyllis (Jack) Patrick of
Ohio, and Brenda Starkey of West Virginia.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 9:30
a.m. at the First Christian Church of Hessville, 6733 Alabama
Ave., Hammond, IN with Grant Ray, minister officiating. Burial,
Concordia Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet
with the family on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral

Jack Clifford Patrick, age 78, of Marion passed away Friday
February 24th, 2017 at Marion General Hospital.
Jack was born October 07, 1938 in Mt. Clare, West Virginia as
the son of the late Carl Sr. and Beulah Irene (Swagger) Patrick.
Jack married Phyllis Reed December 25th, 1958 and she survives
him at home. Jack was a Sergeant in the United States Marine
Corp for twelve years and was an employee of Tecumseh in Marion
and later TASCO in Crestline. He liked nothing better than
watching “westerns” in his spare time. He was a devout member of
the Caledonia Baptist Temple. He was also a member of the Galion
Moose Lodge #303. Jack enjoyed working in the garden, being
outdoors and was very proud of his beautiful yard. Jack and
Phyllis were also “snowbirds” and enjoyed spending the winter
months in Florida. He enjoyed spending time with his family and
was a huge Ohio State and Steelers fan.
Jack will be greatly missed by his children; Sarah (Jack)
Patrick-Fox of South Carolina, Jackie (Wayne) Smith of
Caledonia, Sandra Warren of Florida, James (Diane) Patrick of
Marion, Joyce (Rick) Lawrence of Marion, Steven Patrick of
Florida, 10 grandchildren, Tony, Patrick, Stacie, Johnny, Kim,
Whitney, Jason, Caitlyn, Mackenzie & Austin. 14 great
grandchildren, Saige, Chloe, Liam, Rory, Gary, Lacie, Skylar,
Nevaeh, Eric, Jim, Elsie, Alannah, Lauren and Cayden. His 3
sisters are Norma ( Clarence) Hudson of Galion, Hazel (Lester)
Estep of Galion, Rose Arnold of Indiana and numerous nieces and
nephews and his dog Maggie.
Jack is preceded in death by his son Donald, daughter Phyllis
Ann and grandson Derrec; sisters, Emma Jo, Mary Eleanor (Aunt
Mug), Patti, Betty, Helen and Peggy. brothers Carl Jr. Robert,
Bill, Brooks & Tex. Friends may call at the Caledonia Baptist
Temple from 4-6 March 2nd. Service will be held at 6 pm with
Rev. Terry Cudd officiating. |

Nellie Virginia Reed McIntyre, age 86 of Nutter Fort, WV
departed this life on Thurs., Oct. 9, 2008 in the United
Hospital Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Clarksburg, WV on April 25, 1922, a daughter of
the late Volney (Bob) Buckhannon and Lucy Brown Taylor Reed.
Mrs. McIntyre was married to the late Joseph Thomas (Joe)
McIntyre on April 8, 1950, with 31 years of marriage, he
preceded her in death on Mar. 26, 1981.
She is survived by their two children and two grandchildren,
Marit J. McIntyre Stout and her husband Denny L. Stout and their
son, Jeremy R. Stout of Nutter Fort, WV and Thomas C. (Tom)
McIntyre and his wife Janet L. Reed McIntyre and their son,
Thomas L. (Tommy) McIntyre of Jane Lew, WV and several nieces
and nephews.
As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was
preceded in death by one sister,
Pauline Reed Ayers, and five brothers, Clare W. Reed, Clee O.
(John) Reed, Wallace E. Reed, Happy H. Reed and Ronald (Jeff)
Reed.
She was a graduate of Bridgeport High School and played in
school sports. She had previously worked at West Virginia
Tractor, Union Carbide Corporation, Reed’s Auto Repair,
Ireland’s Greenhouse and Fairmont State University from which
she retired in June 1999.
She devoted 57 years to loving and raising a family, was
interested in all aspects of flower and vegetable gardening, and
she also spent time watching her favorite sports teams on
television.
She was a member of the Vincent Memorial United Methodist
Church.
Friends will be received at the Davis - Weaver Funeral Home, 329
E. Main Street, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm, Sunday where a funeral
service will be held at11:00 am, Monday, October, 13, 2008 with
the Rev. Samuel Cale III presiding. Interment in Floral Hills
Memorial Gardens. |
