Wilkes C. Wright, 95, of Panama City, Fla., passed away
Wednesday, September 20, 2017. He was born November 2, 1921, to
Wilkes & Dessie (Taylor) Wright in Elkins, W.Va.
Wilkes served as a SMgt. Pilot in the Air Force, and in his
spare time he enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wright. Those left
to cherish his memory include numerous family members consisting
of one daughter, four sons, 15 grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Wilkes' Life will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday,
September 28, 2017, at Carlisle Baptist Church with Rev. Randy
Kuhn officiating.

WRIGHT, JR., Wilkes JOHNS ISLAND - In loving memory of Wilkes C.
Wright Jr. (Will) who passed into eternal rest with his Heavenly
Father on March 28, 2009.
Will was a resident of Johns Island, SC. He was born on March
19, 1945 in Oak Hill, WV. He was a veteran serving 11 years in
the US Army. He was also an aircraft mechanic for 14 years at
Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, UT. Will enjoyed metal detecting,
rock hunting and fishing.
Will is survived by his mother and stepfather, Louise and Blaine
Yelton of Johns Island, SC; two sisters, Patricia Schroeder of
Mt Pleasant, SC and Nancy Soles of Johns Island, SC; his
brother-in-law, Wiley (Chip) Soles; his Aunt and Uncle, Kay and
Sterling Phillips of Pawley's Island, SC and his dear friends,
Tim Hill of Mt Pleasant, SC and Amber, Chris and Ernie or
Hollywood, SC.

Naleene W.
Varnadoe, 93, of DeLand passed away on July 1st, 2017 at
Linden Lea Assisted Living Facility.
She was born on September 4th, 1923 in Maryland and grew
up in West Virginia. She was a sixty year resident of
DeLand. Naleene was a member of First Baptist Church of
DeLand and her abiding faith supported her throughout
her lifetime. She was a dedicated educator, a loving
wife and a nurturing mother. Naleene was a retired
Volusia County School teacher, having prepared thousands
of students for the computer age by teaching them to
type. Naleene rarely went anywhere in DeLand without
being greeted by someone who fondly remembered her from
class
She is survived by her son, David L. Varnadoe, Jr. and
wife Susan of Winter Springs and daughter Dawn Marie
Wallace and husband Darrell of Walnut Grove, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her
husband David L. Varnadoe, Sr. and daughter Joan Leslie
Varnadoe.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 7th, at 10am at
the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel in DeLand, with Reverend
Johnny Long officiating. Visitation will be at 9:30am. Interment
will follow the service at DeLand Memorial Gardens. In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at
https://act.alz.org/site/Donation2?df_id=32112&32112.donation=form1&.

Elizabeth Patricia Runyon, 81, of La
Plata, MD passed away on August 6, 2008.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Russie Willson.
She is survived by her son, Randall William Runyon, Sr., and
daughter-in-law Wendy S Runyon and four grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2008 at the
AREHART-ECHOLS FUNERAL HOME, P.A. in La Plata, MD from 2-4 pm
and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August
16, 2008 at 10 am at the La Plata United Methodist Church.
Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf,
MD. Memorials ay be made to the Charles County Retired School
Personnel Scholarship Fund % Jeanette Kaufman, P.O. Box 2770 La
Plata, MD 20646 and the Alzheimers Association P.O. Box 1889 La
Plata, MD 20646 |
