WINIFRED C. COBERLY GOOD, 87,
died peacefully at The Lifecare Center, Rouse Road, Orlando,
Fla., on Dec. 26, 2005.
She was born Dec. 30, 1918, the daughter of Harley McKinley
Coberly and Myrtle Lynda Coberly. Win was married to Co.
William Henry Good, U.S. Air Force. William Good died on
active duty in 1964 in Glasgow, Mont. Following his death,
Mrs. Good resided in Orlando, Fla., after living for many
years in Winter Park and Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her two
brothers, Herbert McKinley Coberly and Ayward Blake Coberly.
Mrs. Good retired from the Orange County School System where
she served as a guidance counselor for many years. She
attended Western Maryland University and Davis & Elkins
College in Elkins.
Winifred is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law;
Carol and Douglas Catington Jr. of Savannah, Ga., Sandy and
Bill Good Jr and Kathy and Jeffery Good, both living in
central Florida; and grandchildren, Jennifer Good, Kari
Good, John Good and Heather Good. According to her wishes,
private services will be held for the immediate family.

Herbert McKinley Coberly, 85, a resident of Elkins, departed
this life late Wednesday evening, Nov. 9, 2005, at Davis
Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining health.
He was born Monday, Feb. 2, 1920, at Faulkner, a son of the
late Harley McKinley Coberly and Myrtle Lynda McBee Coberly.
On July 18, 1953, at Oakland, Md., he was married to the
former Ruby Kathleen Heltzel, who survives. Also surviving
are two sons, Herbert Michael Coberly and wife, Belinda “Binky,”
of Elkins and Thomas Gregory Coberly and fiancé, Linda
Goodman, of Weaver Road; one sister, Winifred Coberly Good
of Orlando, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Yoi Coberly of Elkins;
and three grandchildren, Heath Michael Coberly and Jon Paul
Calain, both of Elkins, and Tessa Nicole Randolph and
husband, Chris, of Greensboro, N.C.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was one brother,
Ayward Blake Coberly.
He attended the schools of Bowden, Elkins High School,
Hagerstown High School, Davis & Elkins College, Shepherd
College and the University of Tampa, where he was a member
of the football squad and also played semi-pro football at
Hagerstown, Md. He was a veteran of World War II, having
served with the U.S. Army with the 509th Parachute Battalion
and had been a prisoner of war. He had worked for the
Western Maryland Railroad for more than 30 years and retired
as assistant track supervisor in 1981. He was an assistant
Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader, was a life member of H.W.
Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygarts Valley Post 3647
Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a hunter and a noted pool
shot.
The family will receive friends at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home
of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Final rites will be
conducted at the funeral home chapel, Monday, Nov. 14, at 11
a.m. The Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Parli and the Rev. Nancy I.
Stevens will officiate and interment will follow at
Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins, where H. W. Daniels Post 29
American Legion and Tygarts Valley Post 3647 Veterans of
Foreign Wars will conduct full military rites. Lohr & Barb
Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Herbert

Ruby Kathaleen Heltzel Coberly, 75, a resident of Elkins,
departed this life Tuesday evening, Nov. 28, 2006, at her
home.
She was born Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1931, at Job, a daughter of
the late Harry Roscoe Heltzel and Hazel Hester Day Heltzel.
On July 18, 1953, at Oakland, Md., she was married to
Herbert McKinley Coberly who preceded her in death on Nov.
9, 2005.
Surviving her are two sons, Herbert Michael Coberly and
wife, Belinda "Binky," of Elkins and Thomas Gregory Coberly
and wife, Linda, also of Elkins; four brothers, William G.
"Bill" Heltzel and wife, Carolyn, of Richwood, Harry R.
"June" Heltzel Jr. and wife, Sally, of Bristol, Va., Warden
W. "Ward" Heltzel and wife, Letha, of Milan, Ohio, and John
W. Heltzel of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; two sisters, Wanda Lee
Cunningham of Mt. Sydney, Va., and Joy Sue Rayford of Akron,
Ohio; three grandchildren, Heath Michael Coberly and Jon
Paul Calain, both of Elkins, and Tessa Nicole Randolph and
husband, Chris, of Greensboro, N.C.; and two
great-grandchildren, Sydney and Kiley Calain of Elkins.
She attended Harman School and graduated from Elkins High
School with the class of 1949. She had worked for G.C.
Murphy Co. and as operator for the C&P Telephone Co. for
more than 27 years. She was the last operator to work the
switchboard in Elkins in 1977.
She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, had
served as a Cub Scout den mother and was a hard working
mother. She was a Protestant by faith.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral
Home of Elkins on Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friends may
also call on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., the
funeral hour. The Rev. Dr. Marvin L. Parli will officiate
and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at
Elkins. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the
arrangements for Ruby Kathaleen Heltzel Coberly. Condolences

Herbert Michael “Mike”
Coberly, age 65 years, a resident of Elkins, WV
departed this life Friday morning, November 15, 2019
at the Davis Medical Center at Elkins, WV surrounded
by his loving family. He had been in declining
health although death was unexpected.
He was born Thursday, June 3, 1954 at Elkins, WV, a
son of the late Herbert McKinley and Ruby Kathaleen
Heltzel Coberly.
On February 12, 1982 at First Baptist Church in
Elkins, he was married to the former Belinda Gay
“Binky” Calain, who survives. |
Also surviving are two sons,
Heath Michael Coberly and Jonathan Paul Calain, both of
Elkins; one daughter, Tessa Nicole Randolph and husband
Chris of Elkins; one brother, Thomas Gregory “Greg” Coberly
and wife Linda of Elkins; three grandchildren, Sydney and
Kiley Calain and Harrison Randolph.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of
1972. He attended West Virginia University with a degree in
Engineering. He worked for the West Virginia Department of
Highways as a bridge engineer, retiring in 2019. He attended
the First Baptist Church. Mike enjoyed conversation and
never met a stranger. He was a WVU and Steelers fan, an avid
watcher of the tv show NCIS, was meticulous at mowing. He
enjoyed tinkering around the house, working on his vehicles
and loved going to the cabin to hunting camp.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral
Home of Elkins from 4 PM to 7 PM, Wednesday. Final Rites
will be conducted at the funeral home, Thursday, November
21, 2019 at 1PM. The Rev. Nancy Stevens will officiate and
interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins,
WV. |

Thomas Gregory “Greg”
Coberly, age 63 years, a resident of Elkins, WV
departed this life Thursday, February 20, 2020 at
the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV.
He was born Wednesday, January 2, 1957 at Elkins, WV
a son of the late Herbert McKinley and Ruby
Kathaleen Heltzel Coberly.
On September 1, 2006, at the First Baptist Church at
Elkins, WV he was married to the former Linda Jean
Howell, who survives.
Also surviving are his sister in law, Belinda Gay
“Binky” Coberly of Elkins; two nephews, Heath
Michael Coberly and Jonathan Paul Calain, both of
Elkins; and one niece, Tessa Nicole Randolph and
husband Chris of Elkins. |
Greg was the last surviving
member of his immediate family. Preceding him in death is
one brother, Herbert Michael “Mike” Coberly; and one
stepson, Justin Lee Goodman.
He was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of
1975, and attended Glenville State College. He worked for
the U. S. Forest Service for thirty-five years, starting out
as a Surveyor and retiring in 2013 as an Engineer Tech. He
fought many wildfires out west, which he loved doing. He had
a passion for classic cars and motorcycles. He was fun
loving, always laughing and joking, enjoyed talking to
people and didn’t know a stranger.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral
Home of Elkins from 10 AM to 11 AM, Thursday, February 27,
2020. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home,
Thursday, at 11 AM. The Rev. Nancy I. Stevens will officiate
and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at
Elkins, WV. |

Yoi Coberly, 72, resident of
Coldspring, Kentucky, formally Elkins, passed away
peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, surround by her loving
family. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born April 8, 1947,
She was united in marriage to Award B. Coberly, who
proceeded her in death.
Yoi is survived by three children; Brian Coberly of
Cincinnati, Ohio, Lena Coberly and husband Ron Hendricks of
Taylor Mill, Kentucky, and Rachnee Henrie and husband Chad
Ward, Sycamore, Ohio. Additional survivors include two
grandchildren; Justice Henrie and Morgan Henrie. |
She was a homemaker, who’s hands rarely remained still. She
especially enjoyed her role as grandma. She had a vivacious
personality and always made people around her laugh. She
made friends everywhere she went. You could always count on
her sharing her love of food giving those a taste of cuisine
from her homeland. Her life was an example of being kind and
helping others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew
and loved her.
Celebrate Yoi’s life through the memories of those lives she
touched.
