Census for John Pritt in Randolph Co., Virginia, there were three
females under the age of 5 living in his household: Caroline, who was
their first child, then Margaret born a year later. The third
daughter must have been born after Margaret in 1839 or in 1840 before
the Census was taken. This child was no longer alive in the 1850 Census |

1897 - Nancy Phillips passes away, May 29, 1897, Huttonsville,
Randolph Co., WV, according to family trees on Ancestry. However,
no one gives a source for this information. The death date is very
specific unlike her husband who's records only have the year of death,
1899. So somewhere, someone, had a bible or a cemetery record with
this date. OR somebody just made it up or copied someone else's
information.
There are no grave marker photographs for them in Old Brick Church
Cemetery, Huttonsville, Randolph Co., WV and I could find no transcribed
cemetery burials from a gen web site. Therefore, there is also the
question of where this information came from.
In summary, both Nancy and John no longer appear in any historical
documents after the 1880 Census, so one can assume they died before the
1900 Census. |

Everyone on Ancestry has merged
poor Caroline into her younger sister Margaret. In
many cases, they have Margaret's name as Margaret Caroline
Pritt, which is wrong. So many lemmings on this website.
LOOK closely at the 1850 and 1860 Census. In 1850,
Caroline and Margaret are two separate people. In June
1860, Caroline is still living at home at age 22.
Sister Margaret, is married in April which is why she is not
with her parents in the 1860 Census. Margaret is living with
her husband David Kelley in 1860. |

I searched for Caroline in marriages and deaths with no
luck. She just drops off the face of the earth after the
1860 Census. |
