  1883 - 1887 - Dorothy dies????  There is a death record on Find A Grave entered at the Fisher Cemetery in Lewis Co., WV.  However, there is no grave marker photo.  There is no source given for this information.  Find A Grave is famous for folks entering inaccurate info to "complete" a family tree.

The online death records for Lewis Co., are missing between 1883 - 1890

The year given on the Find A Grave burial record is Sep 18, 1895.  So does this mean Dolly divorces from McClellan before 1887 and he ran off to Gilmer Co., WV and marries Phebe Williams?  She then remains in Lewis Co., WV, does not marry again, and then dies in 1895?  Too many unknowns.

What is known.....she died after Nov 14, 1883, after she married McClellan Turner.

  1900 - Census - Living as a boarder. Birth date Jan 1871 living in Holly, Webster Co., WV.  Occupation Lumberman
  After fathering his daughter Pearl with Nellie Lawson ca 1901, Jesse drops off the face of the Earth.  Someone on Find A Grave, has his death as 1906 and has placed him in the Fisher Cemetery in Lewis Co., WV.  There is no grave marker or source for this information.  This is unusual because most of this family, including his parents are buried at the Machpelah Cemetery, Weston, Lewis Co., WV.  Both parents were still alive in 1906, so if he died then, he would have been buried there.

Other family trees have his death in Mar 28, 1939, which was his brother Asa's death.  No location, no source. Where did this date come from???? I looked at ALL of the death certificates for WV with the last name Stalnaker and first name J or F with no luck. 

I suspect that his death was prior to 1939.  His daughter Pearl is living with sister Edna Stalnaker Holt in the 1910 - 1940 Census.  It is unknown who or what happened to Pearl's mother Nellie Lawson.
   
  ???Allie B Stalnaker - b. Feb 1897, WV - Appears on the 1900 Census under the name Allie B Stalnaker with her mother.  She then appears again with her mother and stepfather John P Wine in 1910 Census under the name Allie Kittle.

If Allie was born in either 1896, 1897, OR 1898, she would have been alive when Jessie married Jesse.  So there is the probability that Allie is NOT the daughter of Jesse Stalnaker.  On the 1900 Census, Jessie still had the last name Stalnaker and was listed as divorced.  The Census taker probably automatically assumed her daughter's last name was Stalnaker.

I will leave this name here, just in case Allie was the daughter of Jesse.  I tried tracking Allie down after 1910 with no luck.  Allie might be a nickname for Alice or another name.

  1910 - 1940 - Census - Lived with her aunt and uncle Edna May Stalnaker and John F Holt in Weston, Lewis Co., WV.  She also was the person who signed their death certificates.  ( see above under Edna May Stalnaker )

Although there is no documentation to proof it, Edna and John probably became Pearl's legal guardians.

  There is a Find A Grave entry that has Henry L Stalnaker buried in the Fisher Cemetery, Weston , Lewis Co., WV in 1905.  Entries for this family placed in this cemetery by this Find A Grave member are suspicious.  There are no photos of any grave markers and there are no other records like death records placing Henry (or any other member of this family) in this cemetery.  Where did the information come from?????????

I search the death records for ALL Henry Stalnaker that died in WV, with no luck.
